J M West

Classic Western art with the warmth of a traditional oil painting. The J M West collection gathers more than 180 prints of the American frontier: weathered cowboys and gunslingers, cowgirls in golden light, dignified Native American portraits, and young buckaroos in their Sunday best. Rocky Mountain wildlife fills the rest, with bison, bull elk, moose, grizzlies, and black bears rendered in rich oil and soft watercolor. It is Western decor with a timeless, gallery feel, at home in a lodge, cabin, ranch house, or study. Looking for something bolder and more contemporary? Is there J M West art for a child's room?

Yes. The collection includes a large series of portraits of young cowboys and cowgirls in classic Western dress, a natural fit for nurseries, kids' rooms, and playrooms with a ranch or country theme. Hang two or three as a set for the strongest effect.

Which wildlife prints work best in a cabin or lodge?

The soft watercolor bears, elk, and moose suit lighter, airy cabins, while the oil-style bison and bull elk portraits hold their own in large rooms with wood and stone. For a great room or over a fireplace, choose a horizontal piece at 30 x 40 inches or larger.

Which frame suits classic Western art?

Natural and walnut wood frames echo the warm tones of the paintings and suit rustic interiors. Black frames give the same art a crisper, more modern look. Every print is also available as a gallery-wrapped canvas that needs no frame at all.
