The full lunar disk is rendered in exquisite detail against a pure black background. Dark maria — including Mare Tranquillitatis and Mare Imbrium — sweep across the surface alongside ancient highland regions and countless impact craters of every scale. Brilliant ray systems radiate outward from younger craters such as Tycho and Copernicus, tracing the Moon's long and violent history across its face.
