Overcast River Bend — BRUME Collection

There is a particular quality to early spring light — pale, reluctant, caught between seasons — and Jay Bryant Ward captures it here with quiet authority. Overcast River Bend depicts a river swollen with snowmelt, its dark waters spreading across low-lying banks and mirroring the bare birch and poplar trees lining the right shore. Above, heavy grey-green clouds part just enough to let a luminous band of pale yellow glow along the horizon.

Executed in the tradition of 19th-century Russian Realist landscape painting — evoking the atmospheric introspection of Levitan or Polenov — this work renders the transitional melancholy of late winter giving way to spring with a subdued palette of muted greens, grey-browns, and soft yellows. It is the kind of painting that rewards a long look.

Fine Art Paper

Printed individually with care on premium, heavyweight 230 gsm archival-grade acid-free matte paper. This fine art paper features a luxurious, smooth finish with bright whites for accurate, high-contrast color reproduction and ultra high resolution. Our unique Instant-Dry coating resists fingerprints and smudging, ensuring vibrant, rich colors.

1/2" White Border is added to aid with framing or matting.

Rolled Canvas

Meticulously printed on thick archival grade, poly-cotton blend canvas. Our archival canvas allows for vibrant colors and is pH neutral and acid-free (will not yellow over time).

2 inch white border is added on each side for stretching or mounting.

Gallery-Wrapped Stretched Canvas

Gallery-wrapped stretched canvas uses the same high quality canvas as Rolled Canvas canvas but mounted over kiln dried pine stretcher bars. The image is extended and wrapped to show on the sides for a clean modern look.

Ready to hang! No need for a frame.
