Drawn in 1700 by Nicolas de Fer, cartographer to the Dauphin of France, this exquisite engraved plan captures the full sweep of the Palace of Versailles at the height of Louis XIV's reign. Every element of Le Nôtre's monumental landscape is rendered in meticulous intaglio linework — the radiating allées, geometric bosquets, grand canal system, fountains, Trianon, La Ménagerie, Pièce des Suisses, and the surrounding town — composing a document as architectural as it is geographical.

An ornate title cartouche, compass rose, dual scale bars, and a detailed French legend key frame the plan with the formal elegance of the era. Printed in fine black and white, this is a work of cartographic discipline and Baroque grandeur that rewards close study.

Printed individually with care on premium, heavyweight 230 gsm archival-grade acid-free matte paper. 1/2" White Border is added to aid with framing or matting.

Meticulously printed on thick archival grade, poly-cotton blend canvas. Our archival canvas allows for vibrant colors and is pH neutral and acid-free (will not yellow over time).

Gallery-wrapped stretched canvas uses the same high quality canvas as Rolled Canvas canvas but mounted over 1 1/4" kiln dried pine stretcher bars. The image is extended and wrapped to show on the sides for a clean modern look.

Ready to hang! No need for a frame.
