The Young Wrangler
The Young Wrangler — Jay Bryant Ward
He stands ready for the range before he's old enough for it — hat brim pulled low, bandana knotted just so, silver buckle catching the light. The Young Wrangler by Jay Bryant Ward is a warmly rendered oil-style portrait of a young boy dressed head-to-toe in Western cowboy attire: a dark wide-brim hat, cream Western shirt, vibrant orange floral bandana, ornate silver belt buckle, dark jeans, and fringed leather chaps over boots. One hand rests confidently on his hip, and his stance says he already knows who he is.
Ward's classical, painterly technique brings the figure to life with careful, realistic detail set against a loose, expressive golden-brown background — a combination that gives the portrait both warmth and depth. It's the kind of painting that feels like a memory you want to hold onto.
This print brings a sense of heritage, pride, and Western spirit to any space — from a child's bedroom to a ranch living room to a collector's gallery wall. Printed on gallery-quality fine art paper or canvas, every brushstroke and texture translates beautifully at any size.
